Mitchell F Chan
MITCHELL F CHAN creates installation, sculpture, and performance work that focuses on the changes in meaning and material that occur when information moves between physical and digital platforms. In 2017, his full-gallery installation “Something Something National Conversation” earned international recognition for the way it portrayed political discourse in the digital age. More recently, he created the “Digital Zones of Immaterial Pictorial Sensibility,” a reproduction of an Yves Klein artwork which is traded and exchanged as a cryptocurrency on the Ethereum blockchain.
Chan is a former Trustee Scholar at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where his studies focused on public art and technology.
