Pedestrian and Traffic Access to Ontario Place During Honda Indy

Honda Indy July 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th

VEHICLE ACCESS

With the Honda Indy happening and track preparation, the intersections in front of Ontario Place will be closed beginning July 12th  9pm to potentially July 27th.   Lakeshore Blvd in front of Ontario Place will be closed July 12th to July 16th.  However, there will be vehicle access from the east side of Ontario Place by way of lane restrictions.

VEHICLE TRAFFIC FROM THE WEST:

If driving from the west, stay on the Gardiner Expressway and exit at Spadina Ave. turn left (north) on Spadina Ave. to Fort York Blvd.  Turn left onto Fort York Blvd. (going west now).  Follow Fort York Blvd. to Fleet St. Make a right at Fleet St. (still going west) and go to Strachan Ave, make a left onto Strachan Ave. (going south) which becomes Remembrance Drive, and go straight into Ontario Place.

VEHICLE TRAFFIC FROM THE EAST:

 If driving from the east, Lake Shore Blvd. is closed from Strachan Ave. onwards.  Access to Ontario Place is made by making a left turn (south) at the lights of Lake Shore Blvd. and Strachan Ave. (Princes’ Gates of CNE). Follow the two-way lanes into Ontario Place to enter the available parking lots.

Traffic will be high, so expect delays.

PEDESTRIAN ACCESS

Various public transit options are available for you to arrive at Ontario Place.  Most of which will bring you into the Exhibition grounds.  Access to Ontario Place is walking distance.

GO TRANSIT:

Go Transit will stop at the Exhibition grounds.   Exit trains and walk east along Manitoba Dr. to Strachan Ave. south on Strachan across Lakeshore Blvd. to Remembrance Dr. and continue south towards the lake into Ontario Place.

T.T.C.:

The T.T.C. can be taken to Union Station, transfer onto the Lakeshore 509 streetcar which will bring you to the Fleet Loop (Light House). exit the streetcar at Fleet and Bastion St and walk to Strachan Ave. walk south on Strachan Ave. across Lakeshore to Remembrance Dr. and continue south towards the lake into Ontario Place.  The drivers will also make announcements for you to exit the streetcar for Ontario Place.

You may take the Bathurst 511 Streetcar from Bathurst Station, which will bring you right to the Prince’s gates of the C.N.E. exit the streetcar at Lakeshore and Strachan Ave. walk south on Strachan Ave. across Lakeshore to Remembrance Dr. and continue south towards the lake into Ontario Place.  The drivers will also make announcements for you to exit the streetcar for Ontario Place.

You may also take the Dufferin 29 Bus going South which takes you to the Dufferin Loop. Walk south on Dufferin and follow the pedestrian path which brings you to the pedestrian bridge across Lakeshore. Follow the Martin Goodman trail going East to Ontario Place.
