Spend Family Day Weekend at Ontario Place! From February 15 – 18, we’re offering extended holiday hours to visit the West Island of Ontario Place. Experience our beautiful winter setting and enjoy activities and attractions along the way.

ADMISSION IS FREE! (Please note rental prices and tickets prices will apply to some activities)


  • ❄️ Skate Parties: Skate the night away with friends and family while resident DJs spin tunes for visitors of all ages amid a picturesque winter setting. DJ Fawn will be playing on Saturday evening followed by DJ Shane Mackinnon on Sunday night.
  • ❄️ YMCA Winter Pop Up Camp: The YMCA of Greater Toronto will be onsite running a winter activity pop-up camp on Monday, Feb 18.
    • 2pm – 3pm Outdoor Fun! Join us for games like KanJam, Poull Ball and Spike Ball!
    • 3pm – 4pm Campfire Songs + Marshmallows at the firepit

  • ❄️ Painting Lessons: Channel your inner artist and sign up for a painting class run by Art Tonite.  Three sessions will be held on Saturday and one on Sunday. Make sure to sign up and reserve your spot! Tickets can be purchased here.
  • ❄️ Special Effects Make-up Classes: Complimentary special effects classes by SPFX Kids will be available for kids on Monday, Feb 18.
    • Session One – 2:00 – 2:45pm
    • Session Two – 3:15 – 4:00pm
    • Session Three – 4:30 – 5:15pm
    • Session Four – 5:45 – 6:30pmPre-registration is required starting Feb. 4th.
  • ❄️ Winter Light Exhibition: Explore the creativity and innovation of 18 light exhibits that shape, transmit, reflect or contain light, created by notable and award winning artists from across Ontario. The theme this year is Disruptive Engagement, challenging the creator and user to contemplate light, or the lack thereof, in the context of winter landscape.
  • ❄️ Community Bonfires: Cozy up to our bonfire while sipping hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows.
  • ❄️ Cinesphere: The world’s first permanent IMAX® theatre will feature a variety of programming. Screenings over Family Day weekend include a FREE screening of A Beautiful Planet on Monday Feb 18 at 1 PM, Iron Giant (Signature Edition) Feb 16 – 18 at 3:30pm and Inception: The IMAX Experience Feb 15 – 18 at 7:30pm.
  • ❄️ Fairy Lights: Over 100 trees wrapped in fairy lights throughout the West Island pathways, cast a warm glow over visitors as they explore the West Island.

COVID-19 Update

With the park open for use, all visitors are asked to respect the following guidelines when you are on our site to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • If you are sick or if you have been in contact with someone that is sick, please do not enter the Ontario Place grounds.
  • Keep a healthy space of 2 metres between you and other park visitors.
  • Please wear a mask if you are unable to keep a physical distance of 2 metres.
  • Group sizes must follow current Covid outdoor gathering guidelines.
  • Dogs must be on leash and dog owners should be careful to maintain a distance of the recommended 2 metres from other dogs and persons.
  • Use garbage receptacles provided to protect workers and to help keep the park clean.
