Ripples in Time

Ripples in Time is a light-based spatial installation that invites us to experience our connection to the passing of time. A ring of 12 pillars forms a monumental clock, pulsing gently and constantly changing with every passing moment. When nobody is around, the pillars mark time. Each pillar represents both one hour and five minutes.

Visitors can “disrupt” the cylinders with their presence and transfer their energy through them. As visitors draw closer to a pillar, their presence causes changes to the colour and intensity of its light. Strong presence near one pillar causes the change to ripple over to neighboring pillars. As multiple visitors interact, they create new patterns together.
