The Numerology of Mushrooms installation is a place for peaceful meditation and renewal, where one can sit surrounded by 33 unique glowing mushrooms, 8 of which are larger, symbolizing the dharmachakra and the eightfold path, a reminder of samadhi (a meditative state).
The center tree stump shares the same light as the eight mushrooms, representing samsara and the journey of one to nine, where nine represents a sense of completion but not a final ending. This perpetual symbiotic relationship represents the theme of renewal. The never-ending cycle of the transfer of energies transforming, ever growing and renewing. Mushrooms are tied to trees, as their communicators, their fertilizer and their consumer.
The Numerology of Mushrooms invites one person at a time to enter the circle, take a seat and feel connected. Connected to the circuit, to a larger ebb and flow, and feel renewed.

Mikhail Moosa
Sabine Spare and Mikhail Moosa are creative collaborators. Mikhail Moosa is an emerging South African-Canadian artist who recently pivoted from the culinary industry into film as a painter. More recently, Moosa has been pursuing more hands-on creative endeavors. Ensuing his need to express how he sees the world, he has begun collaborating with other artists as he hones his own studio practice. Drawn to organic shapes, reused materials, and natural alternatives, Moosa takes insight from the connectivity of nature to inspire his work. ‘Numerology of Mushrooms’ is Moosa and Spare’s first public collaboration.
