WIND II: The Wave

WIND II: The Wave

Drawing inspiration from the movement of wind and water, Wind II: The Wave replaces the melodic delicacy of wind chimes with a sculptural, kinetic form reminiscent of an accordion or flowing wave. The installation consists of a series of glowing vertical slats made from frosted acrylic sheets, each suspended and interconnected to move in unison. As wind passes through, the slats ripple together, generating a gentle wave-like rhythm that captures the unseen patterns of air and energy.

Through its integration of motion, light, and sound, Wind II: The Wave embodies the cyclical, transformative rhythms found in nature. The glowing panels evoke water, wind, and breath — each movement as a reminder of the interconnected flow of life. In uniting natural forces and human touch, the installation celebrates the evolving harmony between the environment and our shared sensory experience of light over time.

Wind II: The Wave invites visitors to engage by gently pushing the panels to initiate or amplify the rhythmic motion, becoming co-creators of the wave’s pulse. This act of participation connects the viewer to both the elemental forces and the passage of time — the momentary intersection of human energy, light, and nature. Visitors are invited to contemplate how light can embody transformation through physical movement, natural rhythms, and human interaction.
