Nyx 2025 is an original concept for Lumière’s theme of “Neon Dreams: Light and Colour”, inspired by the 1896 painting “Truth Coming Out of Her Well” by Jean-Léon Gérôme. It reflects the artist’s feelings about AI and technology in all its wonder and horror. This installation is an exploration of human anatomy through a robotic lens and examines Thadea’s feelings towards her body through the creation of a perfected robotic physique. Inspired by movies such as Ghost in The Shell, Cyberpunk 2077, and Blade Runner, it is a contemplation of the future possibilities of tech. Nyx 2025 invites participants to contemplate their place in humanity and technology’s parallel evolution.

Thadea Decora/Vincent Glasheen
Thadea Decora is an artist, illustrator, prop maker and sculptor. She works in set decor and props for Casa Loma’s experience design attractions. Her work is inspired by fantasy, mythical animals, art nouveau, and cyberpunk. She loves creating magical work from the very big to the very small and is involved in every step of the process from design, budgeting, concept art, drafting, install, maintenance and tear down. She partnered with her fiancé Vincent Glasheen for the electronic and digital elements of this project.
