Jacques and the Valdanes

Jacques and the Valdanes are Toronto’s finest purveyors of Bluntry and Western music. An organism with it’s roots firmly planted in the dirt well trodden by the likes of Waylon Jennings, Billy Joe Shaver and Johnny Cash but reared in the light of the stripped down immediacy of bands like The Ramones and Motorhead and swings to the rhythms of The Allman  Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

At it’s heart is singer songwriter Jacques Nadjiwon, formerly of Jacques and the Shakey Boys, an artists who’s songs speak truth to pain and the joy that unites us all in this life. Songs about sinners and saviours, regression and redemption. Along with a rolling procession of some of Toronto’s finest musicians, they have played stages as renowned and diverse as The Bovine Sex Club, Handlebar, The Horseshoe Tavern, the Cadillac, the Great Hall, where they had the honour of opening for Austin legend James McMurtry and even Douglas’s Corner in Nashville.  Current band line up also includes Johnathan Billings, Brendan Peltier, Jeff MacNeil and John Borra.
