Matt Austin Greenwood Quintet

Born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe, Matt Greenwood is now pursuing his passion for music in Toronto. Matt is about to finish his third year of Humber’s Bachelor of Music degree program. Growing up in Zimbabwe meant access to music education or even equipment was extremely limited. However, the country’s rich musical heritage and culture was an incredible thing to be a part of. Matt has performed with some of Zimbabwe’s most acclaimed musicians including Oliver Mtukudzi, Gemma Griffiths, Forward Kwenda, Vee Mukarati, Othnell Mangoma Moyo, Josh Meck and Rob Burrell (Mann
Friday) and countless others. From early on in musical development, Matt as had a passion for composing and has scored a number of short films including the award winning animated short ‘Blue  Bird’ which featured at film festivals including Cinequest, Atlanta Film Festival, New York Film Festival and New Media Film Festival among others. Matt is currently working with a variety of Toronto based musicians as well as his own band featuring Lucas Dubovik, Joshua Stanberry, Mitch Milley and Matt McCormack.

Lucas Dubovik is a Vancouver-born saxophonist and composer. Since moving to Toronto in 2017 to study music at Humber College Lucas has established himself as an exciting and daring young musician. He has had the opportunity to be associated with multiple bands and projects in various capacities, including both permanent and freelance roles. With jazz being the primary focus, Lucas is known for his ability to improvise and compose in several genres and styles of music. He was fortunate to study under the tutelage of some of Canada’s finest saxophonists, Kirk Macdonald and Alex Dean. Lucas continues to perform at various venues as a bandleader and as a sideman and he leads his own quintet. Lucas is currently working on his debut album which is scheduled to be released in late 2021.

Joshua Stanberry is a keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist with experience in many genres such as pop, jazz, and RnB. Currently studying as a keyboard major at Humber College, Joshua has had a love of music from a young age, even starting his career as a gigging musician at age 16. He has played in ensembles such as big bands, small jazz combos, pop bands and accompanied choirs.

Matt McCormack is a bass player/composer from Montreal, based in Toronto. His original project, Hector Hektor, recently released their debut “Live from Humber.”

Mitch Milley started playing music when he was ten years old and developed a deep passion for the drums which led to study at an arts highschool and pursueing a music degree at Humber college. He has played in many different musical settings with great musicians in Toronto and elsewhere.
